Cimarron Firearms 1866 Yellowboy Features The Cimarron 1866 Yellowboy faithfully reproduces the original brass framed lever action that earned its nickname from the distinctive gunmetal yellow color of its receiver. Its octagon barrel profile matches the original rifle s design offering a traditional look along with the added rigidity octagon barrels are known for compared to round contours. A 1-in-20 inch twist rate is tuned to stabilize .44 Special bullets across typical cowboy action shooting distances. The lever action cycles smoothly allowing shooters to run through a stage of fire quickly while maintaining the classic feel that draws so many shooters to this era of firearm. The blued barrel and brass receiver combination produces the signature two-tone finish that gives the Yellowboy its name and its enduring popularity among collectors and competitors alike. A traditional walnut stock completes the rifle s classic silhouette and provides a comfortable familiar cheek weld for shooters accustomed to lever guns of this style. At 8.2 pounds and nearly 38 inches overall the rifle carries enough weight to feel substantial without being cumbersome to run through a stage. Cimarron Firearms continues to bring this piece of American firearms history to today s shooters with authentic detail and reliable modern manufacturing.
