Cimarron Firearms 1873 Short Rifle Features The Cimarron 1873 Short Rifle is built on a lever action system chambered in .38-40 Win a classic pistol-caliber cartridge that pairs naturally with the rifle s old-west heritage and makes it a natural companion to a 1873-pattern revolver in the same chambering. The 20 octagon barrel carries a 1:36 twist rate matched to stabilize .38-40 bullets for consistent accuracy at typical cowboy action and hunting distances. A 13-round capacity in the tubular magazine gives shooters plenty of rounds on tap before a reload is needed. This combination of chambering barrel geometry and capacity makes the rifle a well-rounded lever gun for traditional shooting disciplines. The walnut stock gives the rifle a warm classic look and a traditional feel in the hands that synthetic stocks cannot replicate while the blued metal finish throughout protects the steel and keeps the overall presentation consistent with the rifle s period-correct styling. At roughly 7.9 lbs and 38 overall the rifle is balanced for smooth cycling of the lever action and comfortable carry in the field or on the line. Octagon barrel profiles like this one are a hallmark of the original 1873 design adding both visual character and additional barrel mass for steady shooting. For cowboy action competitors and collectors seeking an authentic lever action rifle in .38-40 Win the Cimarron 1873 Short Rifle is a faithful well-built choice for sale at GrabAGun.
