Cimarron Firearms 1886 Features The Cimarron Firearms 1886 recreates the classic Winchester 1886 lever action pattern chambered in .45-70 Government for genuine big bore stopping power on dangerous and large game. The 26 inch octagon barrel carries a 1:18 twist rate matched specifically to stabilize the heavy slow bullets that define the .45-70 cartridge. An 8 round magazine capacity gives the shooter a generous number of follow up shots compared to many bolt action big bore rifles useful when tracking wounded game or facing a follow up shot quickly. The case colored receiver hardware contrasts beautifully against the deep blued finish of the barrel and other metal components giving this rifle genuine Old West styling. A shotgun style buttstock paired with a checkered pistol grip walnut stock sets the 1886 apart from plainer lever guns offering both classic aesthetics and a more secure comfortable grip during recoil. The semi-buckhorn rear sight combined with a blade front sight delivers the kind of fast reliable sight picture that lever action rifles have relied on for well over a century. Weighing 9 pounds with an overall length of 45 inches the rifle balances well for offhand shooting in the field or on the range.
