Proof Research Sendero Barrel Features The Proof Research Sendero barrel blank wraps a stainless steel liner in a carbon fiber jacket delivering the accuracy of a quality steel barrel at a fraction of the weight. This weight savings matters most to hunters and precision shooters who carry their rifle long distances since a lighter barrel reduces fatigue without sacrificing the stiffness needed for consistent accuracy. A 1:7.5 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of .264 caliber bullet weights giving builders flexibility in load development for their specific application. Five-groove rifling provides consistent bullet engagement and contributes to the barrel s reputation for tight repeatable groups. Cut to 18 and sold as a blank this barrel gives gunsmiths and rifle builders the raw material needed to chamber and fit to a specific action whether for a hunting rifle or a dedicated precision build. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion during the chambering and fitting process as well as through the life of the finished rifle. Carbon fiber wrapped barrels also dissipate heat differently than bare steel which can help maintain point of impact across strings of fire. For builders seeking Proof Research s proven carbon fiber barrel technology in a .264 caliber bolt action blank this Sendero barrel is a direct path to a lighter accurate custom rifle.
