Proof Research Sendero Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank Features The Proof Research Sendero carbon fiber barrel blank uses PXT rifling technology which dramatically reduces rifling lead angle and smooths projectile engagement into the bore reducing engraving force and minimizing throat erosion compared to conventional rifling geometry. This smoother transition also creates less felt torque during firing improving recoil control and helping the shooter stay on target more effectively between shots. In controlled testing PXT barrels have demonstrated a 30 to 100 percent increase in barrel life while maintaining the accuracy standards PROOF barrels are known for. Machined with a 1:8 twist rate and five grooves the blank is built to stabilize a range of .224 caliber bullet weights for different shooting applications. Built around PROOF s proven carbon fiber construction the Sendero contour blank provides an exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio reducing overall rifle weight without sacrificing the performance expected from a precision barrel. Designed specifically for custom rifle builders and gunsmiths the blank offers a premium ready-to-chamber foundation for lightweight hunting rifles precision long-range rifles and modern high-performance builds. At 18 inches in length and roughly 2 pounds 13 ounces the blank keeps weight low on the front end of a custom build while still providing the rigidity needed for consistent accuracy.
