Proof Research Pre-Fit PXT Tikka T3X Barrel Features The Proof Research Pre-Fit PXT barrel is machined as a direct pre-fit replacement for the Tikka T3X action meaning the shoulder and chamber dimensions are cut to match the factory action precisely eliminating the need for a gunsmith to fit the barrel. Chambered in .22 Creedmoor this barrel is built for shooters chasing flat trajectories and reduced wind drift at extended ranges. The 1:8 twist rate is tuned to stabilize the longer higher ballistic coefficient bullets that make the .22 Creedmoor cartridge effective well past typical rimfire and small-bore distances. A stainless steel construction underneath the barrel s finish provides a stable foundation for repeatable accuracy. PROOF s PXT rifling geometry is engineered to reduce engraving force and throat erosion compared to conventional rifling which translates directly into a longer service life and more consistent accuracy shot after shot as the barrel wears in. At 20 in length the barrel balances velocity gains from the extra length with a manageable overall rifle profile for field and bench use alike. A 5/8x24 threaded muzzle accepts popular muzzle brakes and suppressors giving the owner flexibility to tune recoil or sound signature. Weighing 2 lbs 10 oz the barrel adds a modest amount of front-end weight that can help steady the rifle during precision shooting without making it unwieldy making this Pre-Fit PXT barrel a straightforward purpose-built upgrade for Tikka T3X owners looking to extend barrel life without replacing the entire action.
