Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank Features The Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank combines a steel barrel liner with a carbon fiber wrap cutting significant weight compared to an equivalent all steel barrel while maintaining the rigidity necessary for precise repeatable accuracy. Built in .257 caliber with an 18 inch length the blank gives gunsmiths flexibility in chambering for a variety of popular .257 caliber cartridges during a custom build. The 1 in 7.5 twist rate is tuned for stabilizing the heavier higher ballistic coefficient bullets increasingly favored in modern long range shooting. The stainless steel finish beneath the carbon wrap provides excellent corrosion resistance for the barrel s internal components. At 2 pounds 13 ounces the barrel blank remains remarkably light for its length a key advantage for hunters and shooters who want to minimize overall rifle weight without sacrificing barrel performance. As a blank rather than a finished pre-fit barrel this product is intended for gunsmiths and experienced builders who will perform the chambering and fitting work to a specific action. Proof Research s PXT technology reflects decades of carbon fiber barrel manufacturing experience applied to a blank format for maximum build flexibility. For custom rifle builders who want a lightweight high performance barrel foundation in .257 caliber the Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank is available for sale at GrabAGun.
