Proof Research Sendero Barrel Blank Features The Proof Research Sendero Barrel Blank is engineered around PXT PROOF Exponential Twist a rethinking of conventional rifling geometry and twist progression. By dramatically reducing rifling lead angle the design smooths projectile engagement into the bore cutting engraving force and minimizing throat erosion over the barrel s life. Less felt torque during firing translates into improved recoil control for the shooter and the ability to stay on target more consistently between shots. Testing has shown 30 to 100 percent increases in barrel life while maintaining the accuracy PROOF barrels are built around giving builders a blank that holds its zero longer between relines and rebarrels. Built in carbon fiber with a 2.5 breech and a 1.20 shank diameter this .284 Caliber blank is cut with a Sendero contour and a 1:8 twist rate across five grooves. Carbon fiber construction delivers an exceptional stiffness to weight ratio reducing overall rifle weight without sacrificing the barrel performance a custom build demands. That weight savings matters most on a long 20 barrel where a steel equivalent would push balance and handling in the wrong direction for a hunting rig carried over distance. It is designed as a premium foundation for gunsmiths and custom builders working on lightweight hunting rifles or precision long-range systems where the breech and shank dimensions must match the builder s action and chambering reamer precisely. The result is a barrel blank suited to high-performance rifle builds where consistency reduced weight and durability matter most backed by PROOF Research s reputation for match-grade carbon fiber barrels.
