Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank Features The Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank starts life as a stainless steel bore blank that is then wrapped in a carbon fiber sleeve bonding the benefits of a traditional button rifled barrel with the reduced weight of carbon fiber construction. The five groove rifling and 1 in 7.5 inch twist rate are tuned for the .264 Caliber family giving stability to the longer heavier bullets that long-range and hunting shooters prefer. At 20 inches long and roughly 2 pounds 13 ounces before chambering the blank trims noticeable weight off the muzzle end of a custom rifle build which helps keep the completed rifle balanced and easier to carry afield. Because it ships as a blank a gunsmith can chamber contour and finish it to the builder s own specification rather than a factory preset. Choosing a Sendero profile blank gives a builder a heavier stiffer barrel section that resists the heat-induced stringing that can plague thinner contours during strings of fire at the range. The stainless steel core keeps the bore true to Proof Research s reputation for accuracy while the carbon fiber wrap also helps dissipate heat more evenly across the barrel length. This blank suits precision hunting rifles and long-range competition builds alike where shedding ounces without sacrificing barrel rigidity makes a real difference over a long day in the field or on the line. The Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank is available for sale at GrabAGun for custom rifle builders seeking a lightweight accurate foundation for their next .264 Caliber project.
