EGW Guns Scope Base Features The EGW Scope Base is precision machined from ultra-rigid extruded 6061 T6 aluminum giving it the strength to hold zero under recoil while keeping overall weight low. A milled center channel trims unnecessary material for a lightweight tactical profile without sacrificing rigidity where it counts. The base measures 7.458 inches overall and stands just 0.4 inch tall keeping the scope s mounting height low for a natural cheek weld. At roughly 2 ounces it adds negligible weight to a Thompson Center Venture or Compass short action build. Full-width cross-slots are gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specifications within plus or minus 0.002 inch so Picatinny or Weaver rings seat securely and allow fast simple adjustments to eye relief. The base is drilled to match the factory scope mount holes on the receiver mounting with no drilling or tapping required for a clean factory-style installation. It ships complete with socket head Torx screws and the wrench needed to install them and EGW recommends 20 inch pounds of torque along with a drop of blue Loctite for a secure long-lasting mount. This base gives Venture and Compass shooters the flexibility to choose the scope and ring combination that best suits their hunting or shooting needs.
