EGW Guns Scope Base Features The EGW Guns Picatinny Rail Mount is precision machined from ultra-rigid extruded 6061 T6 aluminum giving Remington 700 722 and 40X long action rifles a durable one-piece scope mounting platform. Full-width cross-slots are gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specifications to within plus or minus .002 inches allowing fast and simple changes to eye relief and flexibility in scope ring choice. This base is built with 20 MOA of elevation helping extend a scope s internal adjustment range for shooters reaching out to longer distances. The matte black finish keeps the mount s appearance understated while resisting wear from repeated handling and use. Drilled to directly fit the factory scope mount holes on the Remington 700 long action receiver this mount installs without any additional drilling or tapping simplifying the upgrade process. It is compatible with both Picatinny and Weaver style scope rings giving the shooter flexibility in ring selection for their chosen optic. Installation hardware including hex head screws and a wrench ships with the mount and EGW recommends 20 inch pounds of torque along with a drop of blue Loctite for a secure fit. Note that this base is not compatible with the Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard as those receivers use a different hole pattern.
