EGW Guns Scope Base Features The EGW Guns Scope Base is precision machined from extruded 7075-T6 aluminum giving it the rigidity needed to hold zero under recoil while adding minimal weight to the rifle. Its heavy duty design sits 0.100 inches lower than EGW s lightweight mounts keeping the optic closer to the barrel s centerline for improved accuracy. Full width cross slots are cut to MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny specifications within 0.002 inches accepting either Picatinny or Weaver scope rings and allowing fast simple changes to eye relief. The base is drilled to fit the factory scope mount holes on the Remington 700 722 and 40X short action receiver so installation requires no drilling or tapping of the receiver. A matte black mil spec hardcoat anodized finish resists wear and matches most factory and aftermarket rifle finishes. The one piece design includes a bevel on both sides making the base genuinely ambidextrous regardless of which hand the shooter favors. Installation hardware including socket head Torx screws and the wrench needed to install them ships with the base and EGW recommends 20 inch pounds of torque with a drop of blue Loctite for a secure mount. Made in the USA this EGW scope base brings a simple strong upgrade path to optics for Remington short action shooters for sale at GrabAGun.
