EGW Guns Scope Base Features The EGW Scope Base is precision machined from domestic 6061 T6 extruded aluminum with Picatinny slot-and-rail spacing that allows fast simple changes to eye relief and far greater flexibility in scope selection. Drilled specifically to fit the factory scope mount holes on the Ruger American Short Action receiver the base installs without any drilling or tapping to the rifle itself. The built-in 20 MOA of elevation works for all short action centerfire Ruger American rifles helping extend practical long-range capability by compensating for bullet drop before the scope s internal adjustment is used. Full-width cross-slots are gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specifications within plus or minus 0.002 inches ensuring a reliable fit with Picatinny or Weaver rings. A milled center channel reduces weight without sacrificing the rigidity needed to hold zero under recoil keeping the base light on the rifle. The matte black finish resists wear and corrosion while matching the factory look of most Ruger American rifles. Each base ships with socket head Torx screws and a wrench and EGW recommends 20 inch-pounds of torque along with a drop of blue Loctite for a secure long-lasting mount. Ambidextrous in design and American made this scope base is a direct no-gunsmithing upgrade for Ruger American Short Action owners looking to add a modern optic.
