EGW Guns Picatinny Scope Base Features The EGW Guns Picatinny Scope Base is precision machined from extruded 6061-T6 aluminum a material chosen for its rigidity and light weight keeping the added mass on a revolver to a minimum. The base is drilled specifically to fit the factory scope mount holes on Smith and Wesson K L N and X frame revolvers so there is no need to drill or tap the receiver during installation. Picatinny slot-and-rail spacing built into the base allows fast and simple changes to eye relief along with flexibility in scope selection since the rail accepts both Picatinny and Weaver rings. Full width cross slots are gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specifications to within 0.002 inches ensuring a consistent repeatable fit for any compatible ring. Finished in Silver to complement a revolver s factory finish the base includes hex head mounting screws and a wrench so the installation can be completed without hunting down separate hardware. EGW recommends torquing the screws to 20 inch pounds along with a drip of blue Loctite to keep the base secure under recoil over repeated range sessions. The 0 MOA design keeps the rail level with the bore giving a predictable baseline for mounting a scope or red dot without introducing unwanted elevation offset. Revolver shooters looking to add optics to a K L N or X frame Smith and Wesson will find this EGW Guns scope base a straightforward no gunsmithing solution.
