Faxon Firearms Match Series Gunner Barrel Features The Faxon Firearms Match Series Gunner Barrel uses a Gunner profile that blends the strength of a Government contour with the reduced weight of a Pencil contour bringing the rifle s balance back toward the shooter s body to reduce fatigue over long training or hunting days. Faxon machines this barrel from 416R stainless steel using 5R button rifling a hybrid rifling style with lands opposite grooves that reduces bullet jacket deformation for better velocity retention and easier cleaning. The .223 Wylde chamber lets the barrel achieve match-grade accuracy with .223 Remington ammunition while remaining fully safe with higher-pressure 5.56 NATO loads. A 1:8 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights giving shooters flexibility across hunting training and competition ammunition. Every Faxon Match Series barrel is stress relieved air-gauge tested magnetic particle inspected and individually headspace verified ensuring consistent quality before it ever leaves the factory. The barrel s mid-length gas system is paired with a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle ready to accept a muzzle device or suppressor. A salt bath nitride treatment inside and out locks in corrosion resistance and extends barrel life while the Nickel Teflon coated M4 extension improves lubricity and tightens the fit between the extension and the receiver for better shot-to-shot consistency. Manufactured in-house in Cincinnati Ohio the Faxon Firearms Match Series Gunner barrel is built for duty competition and everything in between.
