Faxon Firearms Match Series Barrel Features The Faxon Firearms Match Series barrel starts with 416-R stainless steel bar-stock and is cut with 5R button rifling a hybrid design with lands opposite grooves and reduced sharp angles that reduces jacket deformation while increasing velocity. Chambered in .223 Wylde a hybrid chamber specifically designed to take full advantage of the 5R rifling the barrel delivers better accuracy through reduced bullet jump while remaining safe to run with both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition. Every barrel is individually MPI tested for safety and each is air-gauge tested and fully stress relieved before an 11 degree target crown is cut to maximize accuracy at the muzzle. The 1:8 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights for versatile use. After machining the barrel is treated inside and out with a QPQ Nitride finish locking in the bore extending barrel life and keeping corrosion at bay in all weather conditions.
