"Men's Altra® Timp 5 BOA: The Altra Timp 5 BOA is a men's trail running shoe that combines high cushioning, a zero-drop platform, and a BOA PerformFit Wrap lacing system so you can dial in your fit on the fly - no stopping to retie mid-run. If you spend time on technical trails and want a shoe that feels natural underfoot while keeping your foot locked in, this is a setup worth trying. The roomy toe box gives your toes space to splay naturally, and the 29 mm stack height puts real cushioning between you and the ground without raising the heel above the forefoot. The Vibram Megagrip outsole handles wet and dry surfaces with confidence, which matters when trails get unpredictable. Altra EGO MAX midsole foam keeps the ride cushioned across longer efforts without feeling heavy - the shoe weighs in at 10 oz for a men's size 10.5. Altra's Standard FootShape Fit secures the midfoot while leaving the toe box open, so the fit feels supportive without squeezing. GaiterTrap attachments are built in for runners who want to keep debris out on dusty or muddy trails. The zero-drop geometry keeps your foot in a natural position from heel to toe, which is a core part of what makes Altra trail shoes feel different from conventional options. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I really like recommending the Timp 5 BOA to trail runners who are tired of stopping to adjust their laces on longer runs.
