"Women's Altra® Lone Peak 9: The Women's Altra Lone Peak 9 is a neutral trail running shoe built for runners who want to cover serious miles on dirt, rocks, and roots without sacrificing comfort underfoot. With a 0 mm heel-to-toe drop and mid-level cushioning from the Altra EGO™ midsole, it keeps your foot in a natural position while absorbing enough impact to stay comfortable deep into long runs. The FootShape™ fit gives your toes room to splay naturally, which makes a real difference when you're hours into a trail run and your feet need space to move. The upper is built from ripstop mesh with no-sew overlays, so it holds up to the kind of abuse that comes with high-mileage trail running. The MaxTrac™ outsole grips well across varied terrain, and the removable StoneGuard™ - a full-length TPU shield with grippers - sits between your foot and the ground to protect against rock and stone bruising on technical trails. The GaiterTrap™ attachment point lets you add a compatible gaiter to keep debris out without straps getting in the way. At 9.5 ounces, it's a capable everyday trail shoe that doesn't ask you to choose between protection and feel. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took these out on a rocky singletrack run and was really impressed by how much ground feel you get while still having that StoneGuard underneath you. The zero drop takes some getting used to if you're new to Altra, but once your body adjusts, the natural foot position makes longer efforts feel a lot less taxing on your legs."" - Sawyer, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, Wilmette ILWho It's Best ForIf you're a neutral runner who spends most of your time on trails and wants a shoe that can handle high mileage without beating up your feet, the Lone Peak 9 is worth a serious look.
