"Men's Altra® Superior 7: If you want a capable trail running shoe that stays light on your feet without sacrificing grip or protection, the Superior 7 is worth a close look. Built for trail runners who prefer a low-profile feel underfoot, it runs at just 9.3 oz and carries a 21 mm stack height with a zero-drop platform - keeping you close to the ground and in a natural foot position. This is a neutral trail shoe that handles technical terrain without adding unnecessary bulk. The updated MaxTrac outsole uses refined lug shape and placement to give you reliable traction across varied trail surfaces. Compression-molded EVA foam keeps the ride lightweight and comfortable without weighing down your stride. A new tongue construction improves the fit around the top of the foot, and ghillie lacing lets you dial in a more secure, customized feel. New tooling adds flexibility through the forefoot, so the shoe moves with your foot rather than against it. If you size up half a size as recommended, the fit tends to feel more comfortable across the toe box.Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took these out on a rocky, rooted trail and was impressed by how well the lugs grabbed without feeling stiff. The zero-drop and low stack keep you connected to the trail, and the ghillie lacing made a real difference in keeping things locked down on the descents."" - Dave, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, San Diego, CAWho It's Best ForIf you're a trail runner who wants a lightweight, neutral shoe with solid traction and a natural ground feel, the Superior 7 is a strong option. It's a good match for runners who prefer zero-drop footwear, like to feel the trail underfoot, and don't want the added weight of heavy cushioning. It works well for moderate to technical trails where grip and flexibility matter more than max cushioning.
