SOG Specialty Knives Pentagon FX Features The SOG Pentagon FX is built around a full-tang CPM S35VN steel blade that has been cryogenically treated to improve edge retention and overall toughness. A black titanium nitride coating protects the 4.77 inch spear point blade against corrosion while giving it a low-visibility hard-use finish rated at 58 to 61 on the Rockwell hardness scale. The double-edge spear point geometry is purpose-built for thrusting and utility tasks alike making it suited to defensive and field applications. Plain edge sharpening keeps the blade simple to maintain and resharpen in austere conditions. Removable G10 handles in a blackout finish provide a textured secure grip in wet or gloved conditions and their modular design allows the knife to be configured to a specific mission or user preference. The ambidextrous layout accommodates both left and right-handed operators without compromise. A GRN sheath is included and built to be compatible with SOG s next-generation Universal Mounting System giving operators flexible carry options across belts vests and plate carriers. At 6.5 ounces and 9.93 inches overall the SOG Pentagon FX balances portability with the strength needed for demanding fixed blade use.
