SOG Specialty Knives Pillar Features The SOG Specialty Knives Pillar is forged entirely from premium S35VN steel a high-end powder metallurgy alloy known for holding a sharp edge while resisting chipping during hard use. Its tanto-style blade geometry gives the tip added strength for piercing and prying tasks compared to a traditional drop point which means it holds up to the rougher jobs outdoor users ask of a fixed blade. The black ion finish applied to the blade improves corrosion resistance while giving the knife a striking purposeful appearance in the field. At a 5 inch blade length and 9.9 inches overall the Pillar strikes a balance between a compact carry size and enough cutting surface for real work. The Micarta handle on the Pillar is chosen specifically for its grip performance in both wet and dry conditions so the knife stays secure in hand whether it is raining or the user s hands are sweaty from exertion. At 7.3 ounces the knife carries enough heft to feel substantial without becoming a burden on a belt or pack. SOG includes a Kydex sheath with the Pillar giving users a rigid protective carry option that secures the blade safely during transport. Forged and assembled entirely in the USA the Pillar reflects SOG s commitment to American craftsmanship in a knife built for serious outdoor use.
