Great Lakes Firearms North Woods Features The Great Lakes Firearms North Woods pairs the widely proven .308 Win cartridge with a stainless steel barrel giving hunters a corrosion-resistant rifle suited to wet or humid hunting environments. The 18 barrel trims overall length and weight compared to longer-barreled rifles making the North Woods easier to maneuver through brush timber stands and tight ground blinds. That shorter barrel still lets the .308 Win cartridge deliver solid terminal performance at typical hunting distances while a semi-automatic action gives hunters the option of a fast follow-up shot if the first isn t perfectly placed. For hunters who need quick follow-up shots in tight cover the Great Lakes Firearms North Woods semi-automatic action delivers that advantage over a traditional bolt gun. A 10-round capacity is generous for a compact AR-10 platform hunting rifle giving shooters plenty of ammunition on hand without needing to reload mid-hunt. Built as a North Woods exclusive this rifle reflects Great Lakes Firearms approach to producing dependable no-frills hunting rifles at an accessible price point. The .308 Win chambering remains one of the most versatile and widely available hunting cartridges giving shooters flexibility in load selection for everything from deer to larger game. For hunters who want a compact stainless .308 Win semi-automatic rifle for close cover hunting the Great Lakes Firearms North Woods is a dependable option.
