Great Lakes Firearms North Woods Features The Great Lakes Firearms North Woods is built around a 24 416R stainless steel barrel with 5R rifling and a 1:8 twist rate chambered in .243 Win for flat-shooting performance on deer-sized game. The threaded barrel cut 5/8x24 is equipped with an integrated muzzle brake to help manage recoil and keep the rifle on target for faster follow-up shots. A direct impingement gas system cycles the action reliably backed by billet 7075-T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers built on an AR-10 frame. For hunters who need a semi-automatic rifle with genuine follow-up shot capability the Great Lakes Firearms North Woods gas system and muzzle brake deliver faster more controlled repeat shots than a bolt gun. A 20-inch M-LOK 6061 aluminum handguard runs the length of the forend giving hunters ample real estate for optics lights or a bipod without unnecessary bulk. Standard mil-spec trigger and pistol grip components keep the manual of arms familiar to shooters already experienced with the AR platform while the North Woods camouflage Cerakote finish sets this rifle apart from a typical black or stainless AR-10 build. As a North Woods exclusive model this rifle is built to Great Lakes Firearms own specification for hunters who want dependable semi-automatic performance with genuine field-ready styling. For hunters seeking a distinctive semi-automatic rifle for the woods the Great Lakes Firearms North Woods in .243 Win is a solid choice.
