Federal Action Shotgun Features The Federal Action Shotgun slug uses the proven TruBall system a polymer sphere nested in the base of the slug that centers the projectile as it travels down the barrel. This centering effect delivers superior accuracy through smoothbore slug guns compared to conventional rifled slugs without the ball bearing design. The rigid hull construction improves cycling through both tube fed and magazine fed shotguns ensuring fast reliable performance when fractions of a second matter in competition. At 1300 fps the 1 ounce rifled slug carries the power needed to knock down targets while keeping recoil manageable across a long stage. Federal built this Action Shotgun line specifically for action shooting competitions where reliable cycling and consistent accuracy directly affect stage times and scores. The 25-round box gives competitors enough ammunition to run through practice stages and match day without frequent reordering. Reliable boxer primers and quality plastic hulls contribute to the consistent ignition and cycling that competitive shooters depend on. This combination of TruBall accuracy and rigid hull reliability makes the Action Shotgun load a strong choice for smoothbore slug competitors.
