Faxon Firearms Match Series Barrel Features The Faxon Firearms Match Series Barrel is purpose built to maximize the .300 Blackout cartridge s potential in ultra-compact AR-15 builds. A fast 1 in 5 twist rate notably quicker than the common 1 in 7 or 1 in 8 rates found on most .300 BLK barrels stabilizes both heavy subsonic projectiles and lighter supersonic rounds for improved accuracy and terminal performance across the full range of .300 BLK loads. 5R rifling is cut into the 416R stainless steel bore a rifling style that reduces bullet deformation and fouling compared to conventional rifling which translates into easier cleaning and tighter groups downrange. Both the inside and outside of the barrel receive a salt bath nitride treatment adding corrosion resistance while keeping the bore easy to maintain after heavy use. The Gunner profile shapes this barrel around a blend of two proven designs combining the durability of the Government and SOCOM profile with the weight savings and handling of the Pencil profile. This balance shifts the rifle s weight back toward the shooter s body reducing fatigue during long days of training hunting or shooting. A pistol-length gas system suits the 6 inch barrel length keeping the gas port positioned correctly for reliable cycling in such a short barrel. An NP3 nickel teflon coated M4 barrel extension tightens the fit to the receiver and improves lubricity for smoother feeding while the 5/8x24 threaded muzzle is ready for suppressors or muzzle devices. Built in Faxon s Cincinnati facility and stress relieved air-gauge tested and 11 degree target crowned this barrel brings match-grade manufacturing to a compact .300 Blackout build.
