Faxon Firearms Match Series Gunner Barrel Features The Faxon Firearms Match Series Gunner barrel is machined from 416-R stainless steel and cut with 5R button rifling at a 1:7 twist rate a combination that improves velocity accuracy and resists fouling better than traditional rifling. The Gunner profile blends the durability of the Gov t contour with the weight savings of the Pencil profile bringing the rifle s balance back toward the shooter s body and reducing fatigue during long days of shooting training or hunting. At 16 inches with a rifle-length gas system the barrel is tuned for smooth consistent cycling chambered in 22 ARC. A 1/2x28 threaded muzzle gives the builder the flexibility to run a suppressor or muzzle device on this setup. Both the inside and outside of the barrel receive a salt bath nitride finish locking in the bore for improved barrel life while keeping corrosion at bay in the field. The barrel extension is coated in Nickel Teflon which maintains dry lubricity and corrosion resistance while tightening the fit between the extension and the receiver for improved accuracy. Every Faxon barrel is magnetic particle inspected and finished with a recessed target crown and each is individually checked for headspace using precision PTG gauges. Manufactured in-house in Cincinnati Ohio and fitted to AR-15 pattern rifles this Faxon Firearms barrel is available for sale at GrabAGun.
