Great Lakes Firearms GL15 Features The Great Lakes Firearms GL15 runs a direct impingement gas system through a .750 gas block and pistol-length gas tube cycling reliably with the 416R stainless steel 7.5 barrel and its 1:8 twist rate for stabilizing a wide range of .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO bullet weights. The 1/2x28 threaded muzzle accepts the included muzzle brake tuned six degrees forward and wrench-tightened for consistent recoil control on a lightweight pistol platform. An M4 feed ramp on the 7075 forged upper receiver supports smooth feeding from the included 30-round polymer AR-style magazine and the Mil-Spec trigger s 5.5 to 6 lb pull gives a predictable repeatable break. Together these components deliver dependable function in a package built for close-range defensive and recreational shooting. The billet 7075 aluminum lower and forged aluminum upper are finished in Black Cherry Cerakote for a durable corrosion-resistant exterior that also sets this pistol apart visually from a standard black build. A 7.125 6061 aluminum M-LOK handguard with a full top Picatinny rail gives shooters room to mount lights lasers and optics while keeping the free-float profile slim in hand. The Mil-Spec polymer grip and adjustable five-position pistol brace let users dial in a stable comfortable shooting position despite the pistol s compact 23.5 overall length. At roughly 5 lbs the GL15 ships with one magazine and stays light enough for extended range sessions or use as a maneuverable truck gun.
