"Men's Altra® FWD Via 2: The Men's Altra® FWD Via 2 is a max-cushion neutral running shoe built for daily training and mid- to long-distance road running. If you want serious cushioning underfoot without a heavy, sluggish feel, this is the shoe to look at. The EGO™ P35 midsole foam keeps the ride light and responsive, so you get that soft landing without feeling like you're working against the shoe on every stride. Rocker shape geometry moves you through the gait cycle smoothly, making it a natural fit for runners who log consistent miles and want a shoe that keeps things efficient from start to finish. The engineered mesh upper stays breathable on longer efforts, and the updated tongue sits soft against the top of your foot with no pressure points. At 10.6 ounces with a 4 mm heel-to-toe drop, the FWD Via 2 sits closer to natural alignment than a traditional high-drop shoe, which gives the ride a grounded, balanced feel without sacrificing cushioning. Neutral runners who want a high-stack shoe that still moves with them - rather than under them - will find a lot to like here. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I put these on for an easy long run and noticed right away how the rocker keeps your foot rolling forward without any effort. The cushioning is substantial but the shoe doesn't feel heavy - it's one of those rare max-cushion options that actually feels like it's helping you move. The soft tongue was a small thing I kept noticing in a good way."" - Sean, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, Chula Vista, CAWho It's Best ForIf you're a neutral runner looking for a high-cushion daily trainer that handles mid- to long-distance road running without weighing you down, the FWD Via 2 is worth a serious look. It works well for runners who want a soft, smooth ride with a natural-feeling 4 mm drop and appreciate a shoe that flows through the stride rather than fighting it. It's a strong choice if you've tried max-cushion shoes before and found them too heavy or unresponsive.
