Thompson Center Prohunter Rifle Barrel Features The Thompson Center Encore ProHunter Barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor is machined with fluting along its 26 inch length a design intended to create the strongest lightweight barrel possible for the Encore platform. The matte blued finish offers corrosion resistance while giving the barrel a traditional look that pairs well with most Encore frame finishes. A 5/8 inch by 24 threaded muzzle lets the shooter add a suppressor or muzzle brake to the setup. Every barrel is factory test fired at 100 yards before shipping giving the owner confidence in its accuracy straight out of the box. This barrel is drilled and tapped for scope mounting giving the shooter the option to run a dedicated optic for this particular caliber and barrel length combination. Installation requires no gunsmithing so the barrel simply swaps onto a compatible Encore frame without additional tools or fitting. Thompson Center is explicit that this barrel fits Encore series rifles only and will not work with Contender or G2 Contender frames so owners should confirm their frame type before ordering. For Encore owners who want to add 6.5 Creedmoor capability to their existing frame this ProHunter barrel is a straightforward way to expand the platform s versatility.
