Thompson Center Prohunter Katahdin Barrel Features The Thompson Center Prohunter Katahdin Barrel is built on the versatile Encore platform which offers a broad range of rifle shotgun and muzzleloader caliber options from a single frame. This .50 caliber barrel uses Firestick ignition technology a modern approach to muzzleloader ignition that improves reliability and ease of use compared to traditional percussion systems. A 1:24 twist rate is matched to common .50 caliber muzzleloader projectiles for consistent accuracy at hunting distances. The fluted design reduces weight while maintaining the rigidity needed for accurate repeatable shot placement in the field. Finished in stainless steel this 20 inch barrel resists corrosion from weather exposure and residue buildup from black powder substitutes making cleanup and long term maintenance easier. The barrel ships with no sights installed giving owners a clean slate to mount their preferred optic or iron sight setup for their hunting style. Because it is built specifically for the Encore and ProHunter frame installation is a simple barrel swap without need for gunsmithing. For Thompson Center owners wanting to add .50 caliber muzzleloader capability to their existing frame the Prohunter Katahdin Barrel is a straightforward durable option.
