Thompson Center Encore Prohunter Barrel Features The Thompson Center Arms Encore Prohunter Katahdin Barrel is chambered in .400 Legend a straight walled cartridge gaining popularity for hunting in states that restrict traditional bottleneck rifle rounds. The 20 stainless steel barrel is fluted to reduce weight without sacrificing the rigidity needed for consistent accuracy while also increasing surface area for better heat dissipation during repeated shots. A 1-in-16 twist rate is matched to the bullet weights typically loaded for .400 Legend helping ensure stable flight and consistent groups. Every Pro Hunter barrel is factory test fired at 100 yards before leaving the plant giving hunters confidence in the barrel s accuracy right out of the box. Threaded 11/16x24 at the muzzle this barrel accepts a muzzle brake flash hider or suppressor for hunters who want to manage recoil or sound signature. Built specifically for Encore series rifle frames the barrel will not fit Contender or G2 Contender frames so Encore owners can be confident of a direct correct fit. Swapping the barrel is a tool free process that only requires removing the forend and tapping out the barrel and frame hinge pin letting hunters change calibers in seconds in the field or at camp. For Encore owners who want to add the .400 Legend cartridge to their lineup this stainless fluted barrel offers a factory matched accuracy tested option for sale at GrabAGun.
