Thompson Center Encore ProHunter Katahdin Barrel Features The Thompson Center Encore ProHunter Katahdin Barrel is chambered in 300 AAC Blackout and built from stainless steel with straight fluting designed to create the strongest lightweight barrel Thompson Center offers in this line. The 1:8 twist rate stabilizes the heavier bullet weights common to the .300 AAC Blackout cartridge for reliable terminal performance. A 5/8x24 threaded muzzle gives shooters the option to add a suppressor or muzzle brake without further gunsmithing. The barrel is drilled and tapped for scope mounts so a hunter can top it with glass right out of the box. This barrel is built specifically to fit the Encore Katahdin frame and will not fit Contender or G2 Contender actions so shooters should confirm their frame before ordering. No gunsmithing is required to swap it onto a compatible Encore receiver keeping the process simple for hunters who want to add a caliber. The blued finish offers a traditional durable look while standing up to regular handling in the field. Backed by Thompson Center s reputation as America s Master Gunmaker this barrel lets Encore owners expand into a fast-handling short-range caliber without buying an entirely new rifle.
