"Men's Puma® Fast-R Nitro Elite 3: The Fast-R Nitro Elite 3 is Puma's race-day running shoe for neutral runners who want a lightweight, responsive ride when the pace is on the line. At 5.9 ounces with a 40mm heel and 32mm forefoot stack, it sits in that range where you get real cushioning without feeling like you're carrying extra weight through a tempo run or a marathon. If you're a competitive runner looking for a road racing shoe that can handle both shorter races and longer distances, this is where Puma put their best work. The NITROFOAM™ ELITE midsole is the foundation here - a nitrogen-infused foam that keeps the ride light while returning energy through each stride. A full-length PWRPLATE carbon fiber plate runs through the midsole, stiffening the forefoot and promoting a propulsive toe-off so your turnover stays efficient at race pace. The ULTRAWEAVE upper wraps the foot in a thin, structured woven material that stays breathable over long efforts without letting the foot shift around inside the shoe. PUMAGRIP rubber at key contact zones on the outsole gives you reliable traction on road surfaces without adding unnecessary weight to the package. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took the Fast-R Nitro Elite 3 out for a hard tempo run and noticed right away how locked-in the upper felt - no sliding, no distraction. The carbon plate really does push you through toe-off in a way that makes a faster pace feel more sustainable. For race day, this one is hard to argue with."" - Dave, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, San Diego, CAWho It's Best ForIf you're a neutral runner training for a road race - whether that's a 10K, half marathon, or full marathon - and you want a lightweight racing shoe that combines real cushioning with a propulsive, efficient ride, the Fast-R Nitro Elite 3 is worth a serious look. It's a strong choice for competitive runners who want race-day performance and for those who use a dedicated fast shoe for tempo workouts and speed sessions.
