"Men's Puma® Deviate Nitro 4: The Puma Deviate Nitro 4 is a neutral road running shoe built for runners who want a propulsive, responsive feel during tempo runs and speed workouts. The carbon composite PWRPLATE channels energy forward through toe-off, giving you a snappy, propulsive ride without the stiffness you'd expect from a race-day shoe - which means it holds up across regular training use, not just the occasional hard effort. The NITROFOAM™ midsole keeps the ride lightweight and responsive underfoot, returning energy with each stride so faster paces feel more natural. The engineered mesh upper moves air through the shoe while the padded tongue and collar hold the foot securely during quicker efforts. Underfoot, the PUMAGRIP® outsole uses a durable rubber compound with expanded coverage to maintain traction on road surfaces. At 8.81 ounces with a 38 mm heel and 30 mm forefoot stack, the Deviate Nitro 4 sits in a useful middle ground - more cushioned than a pure speed shoe, more propulsive than a standard daily trainer. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took the Deviate Nitro 4 out for a tempo run and noticed right away how the PWRPLATE pushes you through toe-off without making the shoe feel rigid. It has that snappy feel you want for faster training, but it's comfortable enough that I'd reach for it on a regular basis - not just on workout days."" - Dave, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, San Diego, CAWho It's Best ForIf you're a neutral runner who wants more propulsion and energy return than a standard daily trainer offers, the Deviate Nitro 4 is worth a close look. It's a strong fit for runners who do tempo runs, speed sessions, or up-tempo training and want a shoe that responds to the effort without sacrificing everyday wearability. The carbon composite PWRPLATE and NITROFOAM™ cushioning work well together for road running at a range of paces.
