Colt Firearms 1911 Government Features The Colt 1911 Government 250 Years of Freedom edition is chambered in .45 ACP and built on Colt s single-action hammer fired 1911 platform a design that has served American shooters and servicemembers for well over a century. The 5 barrel is Colt s standard Government model length balancing sight radius and overall handling for a pistol equally suited to the range or a duty holster. Fixed combat sights provide a simple snag free sighting system that holds zero reliably without moving parts to work loose. As a numbered limited edition of only 50 pistols this particular example carries a rarity that standard production Colt 1911s do not share. The color case hardened finish is produced through a heat treating process that creates a unique mottled pattern of blues grays and browns across the metal surface meaning no two pistols in the run look exactly alike. This finish has deep roots in firearm history having been used on fine rifles and pistols for generations before modern coatings became common. The pistol ships with two 7-round magazines giving the owner a spare on hand without needing to source additional magazines separately. Commemorating 250 years of American history the Colt 1911 Government is for sale at GrabAGun for collectors and shooters who want a distinctive limited edition piece of Colt s legacy.
