Colt Firearms 1911 Government Competition Series Features The Colt 1911 Government Competition Series is built around an updated Series 70 firing system the mechanism long preferred by competitive shooters for its crisp predictable trigger break. A National Match barrel finished with a polished bore and rifled with a 1 in 16 inch left hand twist across 6 grooves delivers the accuracy competitive shooting disciplines demand. Genuine Novak sights complete the package pairing a red fiber optic front sight with an adjustable rear sight for fast precise target acquisition under time pressure. A dual spring recoil system reduces felt recoil compared to a standard single spring setup while also extending the service life of the recoil spring itself. Custom G10 grips checkered in blue with a scallop pattern give the shooter a secure aggressive purchase on the frame even with sweaty or gloved hands. An upswept beavertail grip safety and an undercut trigger guard let the shooter s hand sit higher and tighter against the frame keeping the bore axis low for reduced muzzle flip between shots. The forged carbon steel slide and frame are both finished in a deep blued coating giving the pistol a classic competition appearance while the stainless steel barrel resists wear from repeated firing. This Competition Series 1911 ships with two magazines a cable lock an instruction manual and spare sight fibers rounding out a complete package for serious 1911 shooters.
