Colt Firearms 1911 Competition Engraved Features The Colt 1911 Competition Engraved runs on a Series 70 Firing System which removes the firing pin block found on later Colt actions and gives shooters a cleaner crisper trigger break that competition shooters rely on for consistency. A National Match Barrel chambered in .45 ACP tightens tolerances between the barrel and slide for the kind of accuracy that separates match winners from the rest of the field. The Dual Recoil spring system reduces felt recoil and extends the recoil spring s service life keeping the pistol running smoother for longer between rebuilds. Novak Adjustable Fiber Optic Sights give a bright fast sight picture that holds up under the pressure of a shot timer. Custom G10 Grips provide a durable textured gripping surface that stays secure even as hands sweat during a long string of fire. The Upswept Beavertail Grip Safety and Undercut Trigger Guard both work to seat the pistol lower in the hand which shrinks muzzle flip and speeds up follow-up shots. Finished in corrosion resistant Stainless Steel the pistol stands up to the wear of heavy range use and frequent handling better than a standard blued finish. Shipping with two 7-round magazines the Colt 1911 Competition Engraved gives competitive shooters a ready-to-run package built for the demands of the timer.
