Colt Firearms Government Competition Features The Colt Firearms Government Competition is built around a 5 inch National Match barrel designed for accuracy and consistent performance shot after shot. Novak adjustable fiber optic sights deliver a highly visible sight picture that helps the shooter stay on target in changing light conditions. The Series 70 firing system is engineered to produce a clean crisp trigger pull that competition shooters demand from their 1911. A dual recoil spring system is designed to reduce felt recoil while extending the service life of the recoil spring over extended range sessions. An upswept beavertail grip safety and undercut trigger guard help position the pistol comfortably and securely in the shooter s hand during rapid strings of fire. This exclusive configuration features an engraved frame paired with genuine stag grips giving the pistol a distinctive custom-pistol aesthetic that stands apart from a standard Government Competition model. The stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance making the pistol well suited for regular use at the range or in competition environments. Chambered in .45 ACP with a 7 round single stack magazine this pistol delivers the proven stopping power of the 1911 platform in a striking one of a kind package.
