Thompson Center Encore ProHunter FS Katahdin Features The Thompson Center Encore ProHunter FS Katahdin uses the Federal FireStick ignition system a pre-measured powder capsule that removes the guesswork of traditional muzzleloading and eliminates breech cleaning between shots. Because FireStick charges are identical from shot to shot the rifle delivers more consistent velocity and accuracy than loose or pelletized powder systems. The 20 inch stainless steel barrel is drilled and tapped for scope mounts while the swing hammer can be positioned to either side of the frame for easier access when a scope is mounted. Williams fiber optic sights ship standard giving the rifle usable open sights right out of the box. Inside the black FlexTech synthetic stock are four Energy Burners that compress slightly on firing reducing felt recoil by about 42 percent compared to a standard stock. That recoil reduction combined with a 14 inch length of pull makes the ProHunter FS comfortable to shoot across a long hunting season. The rifle s WeatherShield coating on the barrel and receiver adds corrosion resistance for hunts in wet or cold conditions. At 7 pounds with an automatic hammer block safety the Thompson Center Encore ProHunter FS Katahdin is for sale at GrabAGun for hunters wanting a simplified accurate muzzleloading system.
