Thompson Center Encore Prohunter FS Features The Thompson Center Arms Encore Prohunter FS uses the Federal FireStick ignition system a plastic capsule holding pre-measured powder charges that delivers identical charges shot after shot for a more consistent velocity spread. Because FireSticks are used only once there is little to no cleaning required in the breech area which speeds up reloading in the field and reduces the equipment a hunter needs to carry. This system eliminates the need for powder measures flasks nipple picks and other traditional muzzleloading accessories making it dramatically easier for beginners to get into the sport. The design also removes the need for a separate breech plug further simplifying the loading process compared to traditional inline muzzleloaders. A fluted 416 stainless steel barrel measuring 28 inches with a 1 in 28 inch twist rate delivers the accuracy this platform is known for while the Williams fiber optic sights provide a bright fast sight picture in varying light conditions. The FlexTech stock houses four Energy Burners alongside the recoil pad allowing the stock to compress slightly upon firing and reduce felt recoil by up to forty-two percent. A Swing Hammer can be positioned toward either side of the frame making it easier to reach the hammer when a scope is mounted on the receiver which comes drilled and tapped for scope mounts from the factory. At 7 pounds and finished with Thompson Center s WeatherShield coating for corrosion resistance this muzzleloader is built to perform reliably through demanding hunting conditions.
