Thompson Center Encore ProHunter XT Katahdin Features The TC Arms Encore ProHunter XT Katahdin is built around the Quick Load Accurizor a false muzzle design with a counterbored crown that enhances accuracy and simplifies seating saboted projectiles even when loading heavier charges in the field. The Speed Breech 3 breech plug uses a triple lead thread design for smooth hand-removable operation letting hunters clean and reprime the muzzleloader quickly between shots or at the end of a hunt. The 209 primer ignition system delivers consistent weatherproof ignition and the barrel is drilled and tapped with a Picatinny rail accepting optics for hunters who want a scope for longer range shot placement. This interchangeable-barrel platform means the same stainless steel frame can carry a shotgun or centerfire rifle barrel once muzzleloader season closes extending the rifle s usefulness across the whole hunting calendar. The Power Rod is a solid aluminum ramrod with an integrated low-profile pivoting T-handle that makes consistent repeatable loading easier than a standard straight rod particularly important for maintaining accuracy shot to shot. The Stainless barrel and frame resist corrosion and abrasion in wet hunting conditions while the Black FlexTech composite stock keeps the rifle lightweight and comfortable to carry over long distances. An automatic hammer block safety adds a layer of protection during handling in the field. Weighing 7 pounds with a 20-inch barrel the Encore ProHunter XT Katahdin balances portability with the stability hunters need for a confident accurate shot at game.
