Thompson Center Encore Prohunter XT Features The Thompson Center Encore Prohunter XT is built around the Quick Load Accurizor false muzzle design which uses a counterbored crown to simplify loading while improving accuracy downrange. Its 28 inch stainless steel barrel carries a 1 in 28 twist rate matched to .45 caliber projectiles for consistent repeatable performance in the field. The Speed Breech 3 threaded breech plug uses a triple lead thread design that leaves more clearance between threads which helps resist seizing from powder corrosion and allows removal with far fewer turns than conventional plugs. This hand removable breech plug makes field stripping and cleaning noticeably faster after a day of hunting in wet or cold conditions. The black FlexTech stock and forend house four internal Energy Burners alongside the recoil pad letting the stock compress slightly under recoil to reduce felt kick by roughly forty two percent. Williams fiber optic sights come standard for fast target acquisition while the Swing Hammer can be repositioned to either side of the frame for easier access when a scope is mounted. The receiver is drilled and tapped from the factory so adding glass is straightforward for hunters who want magnified precision. Weighing just 7 pounds with a 14 inch length of pull and finished in Weather Shield protective coating the Encore Prohunter XT is built to shrug off the elements across a full muzzleloader season.
