Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine Lightweight Features The Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine Lightweight is built around an aluminum alloy receiver that trims substantial weight from the traditional steel-and-wood Thompson design while keeping its unmistakable profile intact. Chambered in .45 ACP the rifle cycles via a side bolt action reminiscent of the originals delivering that same mechanical feel shooters and collectors associate with the historic Thompson platform. The 16.5 inch blued barrel carries a 1 in 16 inch twist rate suited to .45 ACP ballistics and the fixed pinned front blade sight paired with a fixed battle rear sight keeps the sighting system simple and rugged. A 30 round stick magazine feeds the action preserving the stick magazine look and generous capacity that made the Thompson instantly recognizable on the battlefield and on screen alike. Walnut grain polymer furniture covers the stock and grip replicating the look of genuine American walnut while shedding weight and resisting the wear that real wood can suffer in the field. The fixed stock keeps the overall package simple and durable and an overall length of 38 inches keeps the carbine compact and easy to maneuver for range use or display. A manual safety lever gives the shooter straightforward control over the weapon s readiness and the aluminum alloy receiver and blued barrel combine for a finish that stands up to regular handling. Backed by a one year warranty the Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine Lightweight brings authentic Tommy Gun styling and dependable semi-automatic function to shooters who want a true piece of firearms history without the full weight of the original steel design.
