Berry s Manufacturing Superior Features The Berry s Superior line is swaged and plated to final weight then re-struck a second time to tighten tolerances and improve consistency from bullet to bullet. Each 240 grain projectile measures .429 inches in diameter matching standard .44 caliber handloading specifications for both .44 Special and .44 Magnum cartridges. The copper plating bonds to the lead core without the added cost of a true jacketed bullet so reloaders get cleaner cycling and reduced barrel fouling at a lower price point. These bullets can be loaded using any published data for a jacketed bullet of the same weight since the overall weight matches despite the longer profile. The hollow base design is the key to that longer profile giving the bullet more bearing surface against the bore and rifling than a solid base of the same weight. That increased contact area improves stabilization in flight which is especially useful for shooters chasing tighter groups at the range or in competition. Berry s rates this load for velocities up to 1250 fps keeping it well suited to standard .44 Special and .44 Magnum handloads. Packaged 200 to a box these Superior Plated bullets give the home reloader an economical repeatable option for high-volume range sessions.
