Underwood Ammo Rifle Ammunition Features The Underwood Ammo .50 Beowulf load is built around a 275 grain jacketed hollow point bullet a design intended to expand rapidly upon impact and transfer a large amount of energy into the target. This expansion makes the load well suited to hunting medium to large game at the moderate ranges typical of the .50 Beowulf cartridge where quick humane kills depend on significant wound channel creation. The jacketed construction helps the bullet hold together through the bore while still allowing controlled expansion once it strikes soft tissue. Because the .50 Beowulf fires a large diameter heavy bullet at modest velocity compared to standard rifle rounds it delivers a different kind of terminal performance than typical .223 or .308 loads. This ammunition uses brass cased construction supporting both reliable extraction and the option for handloaders to reload spent cases for additional rounds. Chambered specifically for the .50 Beowulf cartridge this load is built for AR-15 platform rifles using an upper conversion to this larger bore chambering giving owners of such rifles a genuine big bore option within a familiar rifle platform. Packaged 20 rounds to a box it provides a practical quantity for range testing or a hunting outing. Underwood Ammo is known for pushing performance to the edge of safe pressures and this load reflects that philosophy with a hard hitting fast expanding bullet suited to serious hunting and defensive applications.
