Great Lakes Firearms and Ammunition GL15 Features The Great Lakes Firearms GL15 is built on forged 7075-T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers a construction method chosen for its strength and consistency across the AR platform. Chambered in .450 Bushmaster the rifle pairs an 18 barrel with a 1:24 twist rate a rate matched to properly stabilize the heavier bullets this straight-walled cartridge typically fires. The barrel carries a black nitride finish for corrosion resistance and is threaded 11/16x24 shipping with an included muzzle brake designed to sit 6 degrees forward and installed wrench-tight without threadlocker. A low profile gas block paired with a mid-length gas system keeps the action cycling smoothly across a range of .450 Bushmaster loads. The rifle is finished in Tungsten Gray Cerakote a durable ceramic-based coating that resists wear and corrosion better than standard anodizing on both the receivers and other metal components. A flat-top upper with a full-length Picatinny rail gives the shooter a reliable uninterrupted mounting surface for optics suited to this hard-hitting cartridge. The 15 free float M-LOK handguard allows the barrel to vibrate independently of the handguard for more consistent accuracy while also providing ample real estate for lights grips and other accessories. With a 6-position collapsible stock for length of pull adjustment and mil-spec controls throughout the GL15 gives hog and deer hunters a modern semi-automatic option in a traditionally bolt-action cartridge niche.
