Berger Bullets Varmint Features The Berger Varmint bullet is built with a thin nosed J4 Precision Jacket a jacket design renowned across competitive target shooting and custom bullet making for its total indicated runout of just plus or minus .0001 inches. That level of manufacturing precision means tighter more consistent groups which matters as much for a varmint hunter trying to make a long shot on a small target as it does for a benchrest competitor. The large open tip produces the rapid violent expansion needed for quick humane kills on varmints and predators where the goal is immediate terminal performance rather than deep penetration. A tangent ogive profile makes this bullet easier to load tune and shoot accurately compared to more aggressive secant ogive designs a real advantage for hunters working up loads at home. At .224 inches in diameter and 60 grains this bullet is sized for the wide range of .22 caliber rifles commonly used in varmint and predator hunting. Berger s Match Grade construction standard applies here just as it does across their target bullet lineup giving varmint hunters the same precision manufacturing in a hunting-oriented bullet. Packaged 100 to the box this bullet count supports extended range days or a full season of varmint control without frequent reordering. Hunters looking to extend their effective lethal range and increase their hit percentage on varmints will find the Berger Varmint bullet built exactly for that purpose.
