The LMT Defense MWS 7.62x51mm NATO 16" Piston Barrel is a lightweight, high-performance barrel assembly engineered specifically for LMT's MWS (Modular Weapon System) upper receivers. This 16-inch chrome-lined barrel delivers exceptional durability, corrosion resistance, and sustained accuracy in the demanding 7.62x51 NATO (.308 Winchester) caliber. Featuring a 1:10" right-hand twist rate, it provides reliable stabilization for a wide variety of .308 projectiles, from 147-grain standard loads to heavier 168-175 grain match-grade options, making it suitable for precision shooting, long-range engagements, or tactical applications. The chrome lining combined with LMT's premium manufacturing ensures extended barrel life and consistent performance even under high-volume fire.Designed as a complete piston-operated system, this barrel includes an integrated piston gas block, piston rod, A2 flash hider for reduced muzzle signature, and a 2-position piston plug to allow shooters to fine-tune gas flow for suppressed or unsuppressed use. This setup minimizes carbon fouling in the receiver compared to direct impingement designs, enhancing reliability and ease of maintenance in adverse conditions. The lightweight construction keeps overall rifle weight manageable while maintaining the robustness expected from LMT Defense components, offering seamless compatibility and quick installation on MWS monolithic uppers without additional modifications.Ideal for building or upgrading a battle-proven AR-10 platform, this 16" piston barrel balances velocity, controllability, and reduced flash for versatile duty, hunting, or competition use. Whether configuring a precision DMR or a reliable patrol rifle, it delivers the accuracy, longevity, and piston-driven reliability that professionals trust from LMT.Purchase the LMT Defense MWS 7.62x51mm NATO 16" Piston Barrel today at Battlehawk Armory and elevate your build with this premium component!
