Thompson Center Encore Prohunter Barrel Features The Thompson Center Arms Encore Prohunter Slug Barrel is rifled specifically for sabot slugs giving 12 gauge shotgun hunters rifle like accuracy at ranges well beyond what a smoothbore barrel can deliver. The 26 stainless steel barrel is fluted to reduce weight and aid heat dissipation while maintaining the stiffness needed for consistent accuracy shot after shot. A 3 chamber accommodates both standard and magnum 12 gauge slug loads giving hunters flexibility in ammunition choice. Left without factory sights the barrel is drilled and tapped so a scope can be mounted directly for precise aiming on deer and other big game. Built exclusively for the Encore frame this barrel will not interchange with Contender or G2 Contender pistol frames so Encore owners can be confident in a direct correct fit. Swapping barrels on the Encore platform is quick and tool free requiring only that the forend be removed and the barrel and frame hinge pin tapped out. This lets a single Encore frame serve as both a rifled slug gun and with a barrel change a rifle or other shotgun configuration. For hunters pursuing deer or other big game with rifled slugs the Thompson Center Encore Slug Barrel offers a dedicated accuracy focused option for sale at GrabAGun.
