Thermacell MI5 Multi-Insect Repellent Refills Features The Thermacell MI5 Multi-Insect Repellent Refills pack a complete resupply kit into one box including four 12-hour fuel cartridges and fifteen 4-hour repellent mats for extended coverage across multiple outings. The active ingredient prallethrin is independently tested and EPA reviewed for safety and effectiveness giving users confidence that the product performs as advertised against mosquitoes black flies and no-see-ums. Thermacell markets this refill as the first and only EPA-registered area repellent for black flies and no-see-ums a distinction that sets it apart from ordinary mosquito-only repellents. The mat and fuel cartridge dispenser system heats the repellent without an open flame so there is no smoke or burning smell to contend with outdoors. Because the refills are compatible with all fuel-powered Thermacell repellers except the Backpacker they offer a simple way to keep an existing repeller stocked and ready for the entire season. The scent-free formula means users avoid the greasy feel of DEET sprays or lotions while still repelling mosquitoes capable of transmitting Encephalitis West Nile Virus and Zika Virus.
